About Our Church

A faithful country congregation, serving God and the people of Peterborough for generations.

Our Mission

Who we are and what we believe

The Anglican Church of Saint Peter is a small, welcoming parish in the town of Peterborough, in the mid-north of South Australia. We are part of the Anglican Diocese of Willochra, which cares for Anglican communities across the vast rural and regional areas of the state.

Our mission is expressed in three simple commitments: to provide and maintain a place for worship, to offer fellowship and hospitality, and to provide pastoral care to all who need it. These have been the heart of our church for many years, and they continue to guide everything we do.

As a registered not-for-profit charity, every effort of our congregation is directed toward the spiritual and practical wellbeing of our community — never toward private gain.

Our Values

What guides us

Worship & Faith

We gather to worship God in the Anglican tradition, drawing strength and meaning from Scripture, prayer and the sacraments in a reverent yet welcoming setting.

Welcome & Belonging

We believe everyone deserves to feel they belong. From lifelong parishioners to first-time visitors, all are received with genuine warmth and hospitality.

Compassion & Care

We reach out to the lonely, the unwell and the grieving, offering practical help and steadfast friendship to families and individuals across our region.

Community Spirit

We are woven into the life of Peterborough, supporting local people and contributing to the wellbeing of our rural and regional town.

Faithful Stewardship

As a not-for-profit charity, we care responsibly for our historic church building and the resources entrusted to us for the benefit of the community.

Tradition & Heritage

We honour the generations of faithful people who built and sustained this church, preserving a place of worship and heritage for those who follow.
